South Africa Under-19 Women Secure Youth T20 Tri-Series Title

The South Africa Under-19 Women’s team achieved a five-wicket victory over the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Youth XI to claim the Youth T20 Tri-Series title. The final took place at the Chatsworth Oval in Durban on Sunday, 18 January 2026. The match was decided on the penultimate delivery of the second innings.

Final Match Performance and Statistics
The CSA Youth XI batted first and was restricted to a total of 114/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Ashleigh van Wyk led the bowling attack for the SA U19 Women, recording figures of three wickets for 24 runs.
In the run chase, Mieke van Voorst anchored the innings for the SA U19 Women. She scored 42 runs from 41 deliveries, a total that included three boundaries. The SA U19 Women successfully reached the target with one ball remaining in the match to remain unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Tournament Progression
The CSA Youth XI reached the final despite a 31-run loss to Zimbabwe in their final round-robin match on 16 January 2026. In that fixture, Zimbabwe posted 120/5, supported by Salem Museka’s 40 runs off 23 balls. The Youth XI was dismissed for 89 runs in 19.2 overs, with Museka claiming 4 wickets for 15 runs.
The CSA Youth XI advanced to the championship match based on a net run rate advantage of 0.04 over Zimbabwe. The final was broadcast live on the Cricket South Africa YouTube channel. This victory concludes the Tri-Series, confirming the South Africa Under-19 Women as the divisional champions.
