One of the shelter’s longest-serving volunteers, Linda, continues to create calm in the midst of crisis. Among the most touching stories of the month is the plea for Buks and Vlooi. After their owner became gravely ill, neighbours did everything they could to care for the pair. But when circumstances eventually made this impossible, the dogs were brought to the shelter. Vlooi, elderly and fragile, barely lifts her head, while Buks stays faithfully beside her. Their emotional bond is strong, and separating them now would be heartbreaking.
