Laerskool Jongspan is celebrating a historic achievement following a phenomenal performance by one of their star athletes at the Inter-Schools 2026 athletics meeting. Teressa Baloyi delivered a masterclass in the Girls U/10 70m Hurdles, etching her name into the record books.

Breaking a Decades-Old Milestone
Teressa's performance was nothing short of legendary as she took on a record that had stood since 2002:
Heat A Record Breaker: In the opening heats, Teressa clocked a blistering 14.30 seconds, breaking the previous record of 14.40 seconds that had remained unbeaten for over two decades.
Consistent Excellence: She proved her speed was no fluke by winning the final event with an impressive time of 14.36 seconds.
