Potchefstroom High School for Boys (PHSB) is proud to introduce Wisdom Moate, a young man whose story perfectly captures the essence of resilience and potential. Wisdom is the first beneficiary of the newly invigorated College Footprints Mentorship Programme, an initiative designed to ensure that the school's most promising students have the support they need to become the leaders of tomorrow.

A Natural Leader Rising Above Challenges
Wisdom is a standout "College" boy in every sense. Academically, he currently ranks first in his grade, showcasing a sharp mind and a commitment to his studies. On the rugby field, he serves as the flyhalf and on-field general for the U14 A team, directing play with a maturity beyond his years. Despite facing significant challenges outside the school gates, Wisdom continues to rise above his circumstances with quiet determination.
Holistic Support for a Bright Future
The College Footprints Mentorship Programme provides more than just financial aid; it offers a comprehensive support system. For Wisdom, this includes:
Financial Sponsorship: Covering his essential school needs.
Dedicated Mentorship: A mentor is already investing time and guidance to help navigate his teenage years.
Hostel Integration: This week, Wisdom moves into the school hostel, allowing him to immerse himself fully in the "College" experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Continuing a Visionary Legacy
The programme was initiated by Andrew Daly and his son Andrew Jnr, alongside Principal Mrs. Van der Merwe and Sports Coordinator Mohau Mohlahleli. It builds upon the foundation laid by the original College Footprint team in 2021, carrying their legacy forward into a new chapter. The goal is simple yet powerful: to remove barriers for boys who excel in both the classroom and on the field, but lack the necessary resources to reach their full potential.
A Call to Action for Old Boys and the Community
The success of this programme relies heavily on the involvement of the PHSB community. Whether through mentorship, financial sponsorship, or advocacy, every contribution has the potential to be a turning point in a young man’s life. As the school prepares to release more information about the programme, they are calling on Old Boys and community members to get involved.
Programme Goals:
Identify promising young men excelling in academics and sport.
Remove financial and social barriers to success.
Provide mentorship to build confidence and leadership skills.
Foster community involvement through the Old Boys network.
