The North West Dragons Women’s team took to their home ground at JB Marks Oval with fire in their hearts, but despite moments of resistance, it was WSB Western Province Women who came out on top with a 75-run victory.

🔥 First Innings: Western Province Build Steady Total
Batting first, Western Province made a composed start before the Dragons fought back with key wickets. At the halfway mark, the visitors were 52/3, with M. du Preez anchoring the innings unbeaten on 26.* The Dragons bowlers kept the pressure on during the early exchanges, showing discipline and intent.
As the innings progressed, WP shifted gears, building partnerships and accelerating in the final overs to set a challenging target.
🏏 Dragons’ Response Falls Short
Chasing under pressure, the Dragons struggled to find rhythm against a sharp Western Province bowling attack. Early wickets made it difficult to recover momentum, and the required run rate quickly climbed beyond reach.
Despite flashes of fight and determination, the Dragons' innings eventually fell short, bringing the match to a close with a 75-run defeat.
💪 Eyes on the Next Challenge
While the result didn’t go the Dragons’ way, the team remains focused on the bigger picture. With several key fixtures still ahead in the Hollywoodbets Pro50 and Pro20 campaigns, the ladies are already looking ahead and preparing to bounce back stronger.
