The JB Marks Local Municipality has released a revised temporary load shedding schedule for Monday, 11 May, and Tuesday, 12 May 2026. This update replaces previous versions and continues the rotational load curtailment strategy necessitated by a faulty transformer at the Potch DS Substation.

Revised Three-Hour Rotational Cycles
The new schedule maintains the three-hour outage periods for areas supplied by the 66 kV line. The rotation across various substations is designed to manage the electrical load effectively while awaiting the restoration of a second transformer.

Ongoing Repair Efforts
The municipality expects the power supply to stabilize once the second transformer at the Potch DS Substation is brought back online. Eskom has received the required spare parts, and the unit is anticipated to be operational by early this week. Residents are reminded that areas on the 132 kV line remain unaffected by this rotational schedule.
