Councillor Tau Huddleston Mogorosi of Ward 26 is inviting all elderly residents aged 60 and above to a special Public Meeting aimed at addressing the needs and concerns of senior citizens in the community.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, 27 October 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, at the O.R. Tambo Community Hall.

Empowering the Elderly Through Engagement
This gathering seeks to provide a dedicated platform where elderly residents can engage directly with their ward councillor, share their experiences, and voice their challenges regarding service delivery, safety, health, and social welfare.
Cllr. Mogorosi emphasized that the municipality recognizes the vital role elderly citizens play in community life and development.
“Our elderly citizens are the foundation of our community’s history and values. We must ensure they are heard, respected, and supported,” said Cllr. Mogorosi.
Focus Areas of the Meeting
Key issues expected to be discussed include:
Healthcare access and social support for older persons
Safety and security in residential areas
Improved municipal services tailored to the elderly
Community programs and activities that promote inclusion and wellness
Commitment to Inclusive Governance
The initiative forms part of JB Marks Local Municipality’s ongoing effort to promote participatory governance and ensure that no age group is left behind in community development.
