Residents of Flamwood are facing a temporary disruption in water supply today as the municipality carries out scheduled maintenance in the area. The interruption, which affects Flamwood Extensions 18 and 30, is expected to last from 08:00 until 15:00.

Reason for the Interruption
According to the municipality, the disruption is linked to the replacement of a pressure reducing valve (PRV). The equipment replacement is part of ongoing maintenance aimed at ensuring a more reliable water supply in the long term. During the work, residents may experience anything from low water pressure to a complete lack of water flow.
Impact on Residents
The interruption has raised concerns among households and businesses in the affected extensions. While many residents have prepared by storing water in advance, others have expressed frustration at the inconvenience caused during working hours. With the disruption spanning most of the day, those relying on consistent water access, such as small businesses, clinics, and food outlets, are expected to feel the impact most sharply.
Municipality’s Response
Officials have emphasized that the work is essential to improve water infrastructure and prevent unplanned outages in the future. They acknowledged the inconvenience caused and have asked the public for patience while the repairs are completed.
Looking Ahead
If all goes according to schedule, water supply will be fully restored by mid-afternoon. The municipality has also urged residents to report any persisting water issues after the scheduled time via the official service hotline.
