Youth Football Ignites Potchefstroom for June 16 Commemoration Games

In a vibrant celebration of youth, sportsmanship, and community pride, the JB Marks Local Football Association (LFA) has announced the official fixtures for the highly anticipated June 16 Youth Games. The tournament will unfold across three days, June 14 to 16, bringing together junior and senior football teams from the region in a dynamic knockout contest.
Organized in collaboration with Cashibe Schools Tournament, Phenomenal Sports Events, and the JB Marks LFA, the games promise thrilling competition and meaningful remembrance of South Africa’s Youth Day.

Tournament Format and Structure
The tournament will follow a knockout format, where tied matches proceed straight to penalties. Teams have been selected based on their positions (1st–4th) in the JB Marks LFA Junior League for U13 and U15 categories. Crucially, player eligibility will be enforced with strict MYSAFA card verification , “No MYSAFA card, No Play” is the rule in force.
Each team is required to arrive an hour before kickoff and provide their own transportation
to the game. Nominal referee fees are applicable depending on the division:
U13: R20/team
U15: R25/team
Ladies Senior: R100/team
Men’s Senior: R150/team
Prizes include trophies and gold medals for champions, and silver medals for runners-up.

Day 1 – June 14, 2025
Venues: Ikageng Stadium (A & B), Extention 2 Tshing Ground, Boikhutsong Village
Action kicks off early with junior fixtures in full force:
U13 Stream B: City Rollers FC vs Costa City FC
U13 Stream A: En Fuego FC vs Potch Academy FC
Senior Men: Team 1 vs Team 5, followed by Team 2 vs Team 6
Ladies Seniors: NWU Pukke meets Kayo Stars FC; North West Rockets face City Rollers Ladies FC
Simultaneously in Tlokwe and Ventersdorp sub-districts, more under-13 and under-15 matches are set to determine regional finalists who will advance to Potchefstroom for the finals.
Day 2 – June 15, 2025
This day sharpens the competition with semi-final qualification on the line:
Senior Men’s Matches: Teams 3 vs 7 and 4 vs 8
Final Prelims: U13 and U15 winners from Day 1 battle it out for final berths
Day 3 – June 16, 2025
Venue: Ikageng Stadium A & B
The grand finale:
U13 & U15 Finals: Potch winners vs VSD (Ventersdorp) winners
Ladies Senior Final: NWU Pukke/Kayo Stars vs NW Rockets/City Rollers
Men’s Senior Final: Winners of semifinal 1 and 2 clash for the title
