On 12 August 2025, the City of Matlosana Local Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), hosted the Baswa le Metsi Adjudication  competition to highlight learner initiatives promoting water conservation. The event formed part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about sustainable water use among young people. Their unbeaten streak over the past two weeks has been nothing short of remarkable, winning every regional and district final without conceding a single goal. This is the next step in the Kay Motsepe Cup, South Africa’s largest schools football competition, featuring over 5,000 schools annually.
