A Boost for Local Heroes - R30,000 Signage Giveaway Launched

Every neighbourhood has those people or organisations that work tirelessly behind the scenes. They are the ones running soup kitchens, animal shelters, or youth development centres, often with very little recognition and even tighter budgets. This April, Signarama Potchefstroom is launching a new initiative which aims to give one of these "community heroes" a significant boost in visibility.

The Signarama Community Hero competition has officially opened, offering a professional signage package valued at R30,000 to a deserving non-profit, charity, or community project.

Putting Local Initiatives on the Map

The core idea behind the campaign is simple: good work deserves to be seen. While many local organisations do incredible work, they often lack the resources to invest in professional branding or clear signage that helps the public find them or understand their mission.

The competition is looking for initiatives that hold communities together and inspire hope. Whether it is a small-scale feeding scheme or an established animal rescue, the goal is to provide the winner with the tools to look professional and stand out.

How the Nomination Process Works

Rather than selecting a winner internally, Signarama Potchefstroom are calling on Potchefstroom residents to nominate the causes they personally care about. If there is a local initiative that has made a real difference in your life or the lives of your neighbours, now is the chance to give them a leg up.

The prize, worth R30,000, covers new signage which can range from building headers and directional signs to informational boards that explain what the organisation does.
