Golfers in Potchefstroom will be swapping spreadsheets for scorecards on 24 October 2025 when the Amelia Nasorgsentrum Charity Golf Day tees off at the Potchefstroom Country Club.
The event, organised in support of the Amelia After Care Centre, invites players, sponsors, and anyone with a decent sense of humour (or at least a decent swing) to take part in what promises to be a lively day on the greens.
A Day on the Course
The format for the day is a Scramble Drive Better Ball, which means players can look forward to some friendly competition with a fair dose of teamwork. Registration kicks off at 09:30 AM, with the shotgun start at 10:30 AM. The afternoon will round off with price giving and happy hour, because even golfers need hydration after all that effort.
And speaking of prices, there’s a total of R30 000 up for grabs, including a special award for the best dressed team, the brighter and funkier, the better.
Entry and Sponsorship
Participation isn’t limited to golfers alone. Businesses and individuals can support the cause through hole sponsorships or by joining the field themselves:
R1 000 – Hole Sponsorship
R2 000 – 4 Ball
R3 000 – 4 Ball and Hole Sponsorship
It’s all in aid of the Amelia After Care Centre, so each rand spent helps make a difference, and possibly funds a few lost golf balls along the way.
