Potchefstroom will host a Basic Fire Fighting training session on 5 September 2025 at Vida E Café. The course runs from 09:00 to 15:00 and is open to anyone who wants to brush up on fire safety skills.
The training is offered by PR Training and SHE Consultants, who are accredited with both TETA and QCTO. The course is aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 252250, which keeps things above board for those who need certified training.
What the Training Covers
Participants won’t just be standing around talking about fire; the training is practical and hands-on. The programme includes:
Identifying different types of fires
Explaining and practising fire prevention
Operating basic fire-fighting equipment
Performing essential fire-fighting procedures
In other words, if something goes up in flames, attendees should walk away with the know-how to keep calm and get to work.
Costs and Booking
The course costs R550 per person, which is cheaper than replacing half your office after someone leaves a toaster unattended.
Spaces are limited, so those wanting to attend will need to move quickly.

No one expects to fight fires every day, but knowing how to use an extinguisher properly might just save a workplace, a business or even a life. This short course is a practical way to tick the safety box while picking up a skill that’s good to have, even if you hope you’ll never need it.
