Comedy Night at NWU: Three Comics, One Stage, Plenty of Laughs - 6 August

On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, North-West University’s Totius Hall will play host to an evening of stand-up, side-eyes and snappy punchlines. The Comedy Night event, headlined by Virgil Prins, Hannes Brummer and Jaxx Justice, promises a night of laughs with a little bit of heart behind the humour.

The Line-Up

The night features a strong trio of South African comedic talent. Virgil Prins brings his cool delivery and razor wit, Hannes Brummer is known for expressive storytelling that somehow stays just the right side of chaos, and Jaxx Justice adds sharp commentary and bold stage presence to the mix. Each comic brings their own flavour, and no one’s safe, not the front row, not politics, not even the potholes.

Why the Laughs Matter

It’s not just a night out, it’s a fundraiser. Proceeds from the Comedy Night go straight to the NWU We Care Bursary Fund, which supports students who need financial assistance to complete their studies. So while you're wiping away tears of laughter, you’ll also be helping someone else clear the path to graduation.
