On 30 August 2025, Potchefstroom will host something a little different from the usual weekend activities, a Mandala Dotting Workshop with a distinctly donkey twist. This is not your average paint class; it is all about creating colourful Mandala designs on donkey-shaped cutouts, and anyone can join in.
The Plan for the Day
The event takes place from 10:00 to 13:00 at Romy’s Habby, 44 Buskus Street, Baillie Park, right next to Econofoods. Aldi van der Westhuizen will be running the workshop and will guide attendees through each step. Participants do not need to bring any materials, just themselves, everything from paints to the donkey template is provided.
What You’ll Be Doing
The workshop focuses on Mandala dotting, a technique using patterns of colourful dots to create intricate designs. The end result: a donkey that is far too stylish to ever stand in a paddock. Beginners and experienced crafters are equally welcome. Expect a relaxed atmosphere where the only pressure is deciding which colour goes where.
Booking and Cost
Tickets cost R200 per person, and spaces are limited. Bookings can be made directly with Aldi via WhatsApp or phone at 083-381-6222.
