The Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), hosted a successful Farmers’ Day on 27 October 2025 at Palmietfonten Farm in Ventersdorp.
The engagement formed part of a broader October 2025 agricultural support programme, which also included sessions at Kgakala Stadium in Leeudoringstad. The initiative focused on empowering local farmers through information sharing, research support, and sustainable land-use practices aimed at strengthening food security across the district.
🚜 Partnerships Driving Agricultural Empowerment
The event brought together several key agricultural stakeholders, including LandCare South Africa, the Agricultural Research Council (ARC), BAYER (Pty) Ltd, and Khula Ecosystem.
Each partner plays a vital role in advancing the agricultural sector:
LandCare South Africa promotes environmentally responsible farming to preserve natural resources and community wellbeing.
The ARC, established under the Research Act 86 of 1990, contributes scientific innovation in crop development and soil rehabilitation.
BAYER (Pty) Ltd continues to provide technological and chemical solutions that improve agricultural productivity.
Khula Ecosystem focuses on integrating farmers into the digital economy through access to markets, finance, and logistics support.
