Residents of Potchefstroom keen to get their hands (literally) into something life-saving might want to mark their calendars for a practical and certified First Aid Level 1 training happening on Saturday, 31 May 2025. No, it’s not a music festival, but it might just help you save a life at one.
What You’ll Learn (Besides Not Panicking)
Organised by PR Training and SHE Consultants, this one-day course promises to teach you more than just how to apply a plaster. Attendees will be walked through the basics of CPR for adults, children, and infants, how to deal with burns, injuries, and the delightful topic of choking and cardiac arrests. It’s everything you wish you’d learned at school instead of the recorder.
The workshop runs from 08:00 to 16:00 in the Vida e Caffe boardroom, tucked away on 46 Christo Meyer Street, Vanderhoffpark, Potchefstroom.
Why You Might Want to Show Up
There’s more to this than just ticking a box. This course is Department of Labour certified, and you’ll receive a certificate once you survive the (very safe) day. Even if you've never so much as applied a bandage, don't stress, no prior experience is needed. The instructors are all certified and favour the hands-on approach (figuratively and literally).
Booking Details (Bring Your Own Enthusiasm)
At R850 per person, the course isn’t free, but then again, neither is an ambulance ride. Limited spots are available, so early booking is recommended, not because it's a Black Friday sale, but because saving lives tends to be popular.
