Nature-I-Am Kids Club is ending the year with something delightfully squishy, jumpy and loud after dark. Their closing activity, Frogs and Frogging, is set for Saturday, 6 December 2025, giving kids a last outdoor hoorah before the holiday mode fully kicks in.
When and where to pitch up
The evening runs from 17:30 to 20:00 at Lekwena Private Game Reserve, Plaaskombuis, just off the N12 in Potchefstroom. The pin on the invite is clear enough for even the most direction-challenged parent: N12, Potchefstroom.
What the kids will get up to
This is a hands-on frog mission. The plan is simple and suitably muddy:
Learn more about frogs
Catch a frog
BBQ
It’s a late-afternoon and early-evening wander into frog territory, with kids getting to meet the locals (the amphibian ones) and learn what they’re about. Expect wide eyes, sudden squeals, and at least one child insisting they’ve found “the king frog”.
Food, fire and family rules
The club is providing sausage, stick bread and roosterkoek for all participating kids. Parents can bring their own meat if they want to join the braai side of the action. The fire will be ready from 17:30, so nobody needs to stand around clicking tongs in frustration.
Costs and who can join
Pricing is:
Club members: as per usual Kids Club fees
Non-members: R250
Kids in the 4 to 12 years bracket are the target crew.
RSVP details and contact
RSVPs need to be in before 4 December. The contact person is:
Trudie: 082 459 7702
If the year has been long and the kids need to end it by chasing something that actually jumps higher than they do, Frogs and Frogging sounds like a fitting finale. Just don’t be surprised if someone tries to smuggle a frog home in a hoodie pocket.
