If you’ve ever wanted to add a bit of personality to your Christmas gifts, the upcoming Dot Art Christmas Tree Ornaments and Gift Tags Workshop might be just the excuse to grab a paintbrush and get festive a little early.
Hosted by Habitat Potchefstroom, the session takes place on 15 November 2025, running from 08:00 to 13:00 at 10 Fleishack Street, Potchefstroom. It’s a five-hour dive into the world of dot painting, where participants will learn how to decorate a set of five unique wooden ornaments, with two of each design provided.
What to Expect
No art degree required, this one’s about creativity, colour, and a bit of Christmas spirit. The workshop focuses on the popular dotting technique, a method that uses layered paint dots to create intricate and eye-catching designs.
Each participant will receive all the materials needed, including:
A dot art tool
25mm fibre brush
250ml Deco Podge sealant
Four 50ml craft paints
And a 10cm wooden test circle to practise before taking on the real thing.
Booking Details
At R300 per person, it’s a hands-on morning that promises both fun and something to hang on your Christmas tree later. Spots are limited, so it’s worth checking availability sooner rather than later.
Bookings can be made directly through Habitat’s website

Because honestly, nothing says “I put thought into this” like a handmade ornament, especially when it comes with a story that starts with paint dots and ends with glitter on your elbows.
