Potchefstroom is about to host something a little different from the usual weekend market or braai gathering, The Nanny Movement’s Comprehensive Nanny Training Part 1. The session takes place on 14 November 2025, from 09:00 to 16:00, and promises a day packed with practical know-how, laughter, and a fair amount of “I didn’t know that!” moments.
The training is led by Chirisma, who’s clearly on a mission to make childcare a bit less guesswork and a lot more skill.
What’s on the Agenda
For anyone who’s ever wondered how to turn chaos into calm while keeping the kids safe, the topics covered sound pretty useful. The session will unpack:
Setting boundaries when working with children
Guidelines and hygiene when feeding little ones
Creating emergency contact lists and understanding crime prevention
What to do in an emergency (because toddlers don’t read manuals)
Bath time and water safety
How to fill in a daily report card
Baby stimulation, gross and fine motor skills
Speech and language development
Planning activities and putting together an activity box
It’s hands-on, grounded, and focused on real-life situations rather than textbook theory.
Workshop Details
The Potchefstroom workshop costs R1 410 per person, with an option to add CPR, choking, and first aid training for R2 160. It’s designed to equip nannies, caregivers, and even parents with the kind of knowledge that makes everyone’s life easier, including the kids’.
