The IT Certification Academy (ITCA) in Potchefstroom is gearing up for an course aimed at students and aspiring professionals who want to get a grip on Microsoft 365 without nodding off halfway through a spreadsheet. From 11 to 15 August, ITCA is running "Office 365 Week", five days dedicated to the essentials of Microsoft’s productivity suite, served with some humour, daily tips, and hopefully fewer “Reply All” disasters in your future.
A Tool a Day Keeps the Tech Fear Away
Each day focuses on one key Office 365 application or feature, breaking down the intimidating bits into manageable chunks. Here’s how the week plays out:
Monday: PowerPoint – Learn to present like someone who didn’t throw their slides together at 2am.
Tuesday: Outlook – Get your calendar and inbox working for you instead of against you.
Wednesday: Excel (Part 1) – Numbers and formulas made slightly less scary.
Thursday: Word (Part 1) – Documents that don’t look like they were formatted in 1998.
Friday: Copilot – Microsoft’s AI assistant joins the party. Expect fewer repetitive tasks and more clever automation.
The Bigger Picture
Beyond the daily tips, the week aims to unpack the full scope of Office 365. That includes understanding the subscription-based model, navigating the cloud-based platform, and getting familiar with the Office 365 portal. In short, it’s less about memorising button clicks and more about making the tools work for you, especially if you’re heading into the workplace or still juggling assignment deadlines.

This isn't your average lecture series. Think of it more like a week-long reality check for anyone still using Comic Sans in serious documents or replying “Noted” to every email. Whether you're brushing up or just trying to understand what Copilot actually does (without having to pretend in a meeting), ITCA’s got you covered.
Just don’t ask about Clippy. He’s not invited.
