The JB Marks Local Municipality has issued an updated public notice regarding ongoing upgrades at the Ventersdorp Road Pump Station, informing residents that the work is taking longer than initially expected.

Cause of the Delay
According to the municipality, the appointed contractor reported a leak on the Main Supply Line, which has hindered pumping to the Eesterandjies Reservoirs. This unforeseen issue has delayed the scheduled completion of the upgrade.
The municipality’s Technical Services Team remains on-site, working to finalize critical tasks. These include the installation of new pumps, a valve on the main supply line, and a bulk water meter at the pump station.
Areas Affected
The following areas continue to be impacted by the delay in operations:
Promosa
Mohadin
Dassierand
SANDF Base
Witrand Hospital
Kanonniers Park
All Ikageng Extension Areas
Eesterandjies Reservoirs
Apology and Commitment
The municipality extended its apologies for the inconvenience caused by the extended downtime. Officials emphasized that the team is working with urgency to complete the upgrade and ensure a safe and reliable water supply to residents.
A follow-up notice will be released once the work has been finalized.
