Kokosi Primary Teacher Honoured as Gauteng West’s Best Soul Buddies Facilitator

A wave of pride swept through Kokosi Primary School as Dipuo Qupe, one of its most dedicated educators, was named Best Soul Buddies Facilitator for the Gauteng West region. The award was presented during a ceremony held at Westgold Primary School in Randfontein, recognising teachers who go above and beyond to instill values of empathy, teamwork, and community-mindedness in their learners.

For Qupe, who has been part of the Soul Buddies initiative for the past three years, the recognition was both unexpected and deeply meaningful. “When you are trying to do good, you are rewarded in other ways, but when you get an award, it means the world to you,” she shared with heartfelt gratitude.

The Soul Buddies project, which operates in schools across South Africa, empowers young learners to develop social awareness and emotional intelligence through community engagement and peer support.
