Let’sgo Potch Marathon 2025: Lacing Up for a Purpose - 25 October

The Let’sgo Potch Marathon is hitting the streets of Potchefstroom again this year on Saturday, 25 October 2025, and it’s set to be a proper jol for runners, walkers, and everyone in between. It’s the fifth edition of this much-loved event, and it’s bringing together locals for fitness, fun and a bit of a push toward a better future for the town.

Organisers are running (yes, pun intended) with a vision of creating real change, with all proceeds going toward building a better future for the community. Whether you're clocking a full marathon or strolling the 5km fun run, you’re contributing to the cause.

Race Day Breakdown

The event kicks off bright and early at Cachet Park, and you’ve got a few options depending on your level of ambition (or how much sleep you got the night before).

Start Times:

• 42.2km: 05:00

• 21.1km: 06:00

• 10km: 07:30

• 5km (Fun & Timed Runs): 08:00

Cut-off for all distances is 11:30, and if you’re still out on the road by then, expect a lift back to the start line from the sweeping vehicle. If you’re struggling mid-race, don’t worry, the race referee is looking out for everyone and may pull you for your own good.

Entry Fees

It’s reasonably priced for a race day experience, with something for every budget:

• 5km Fun Run: R70

• 5km Timed Run: R100

• 10km: R170

• 21.1km: R230

• 42.2km: R290

• Temporary License (for 5km Timed, 10km, 21.1km, 42.2km): R60

You’ll need an ASA licence (temporary or permanent) for anything other than the 5km fun run.

Entries and Number Collection

• Pre-entries close: 21 October 2025

• Late entries: 24 October (15:00 – 20:00) and race day from 04:00 at Cachet Park

• Race number collection: Same as above, don’t leave it too late or you’ll be scrambling

Official Qualifier Status

This marathon isn’t just for Sunday joggers. It's officially recognised as a Comrades Marathon and Two Oceans Marathon qualifier. So if you're chasing qualifying times, this is your shot.
