Operation Compassion Potchefstroom - Project Nehemiah is calling on local singers to step up and show what they’ve got in a new singing competition. The non-profit, described as “a NPO in the Community for the Community”, is putting the call out for short, no-fuss audition videos from anyone keen to take a shot.
How to enter without overthinking it
Entrants must record a singing video that is 60 seconds or less. The organisers are clear about one thing: no studio work. So, yes, your lounge counts as a venue, and your cousin holding the phone counts as production.
There is an R50 entry fee per submission. Payment is done by scanning the QR code provided. When paying, entrants must use their name and surname as the reference. After that, proof of payment must be sent via WhatsApp to the number below.
Sending your video
Videos must be sent on WhatsApp, and the message must include a subject line. The subject line needs to be the entrant’s name and surname again. Repetition? Sure. Confusing? Not if you follow the instructions the first time.
Entries, proof of payment and videos all go to:
WhatsApp 062-169-6547
Dates and auditions
The closing date is 31 January 2026. After that, it’s pencils down, vocal cords up.
Auditions will be held at Mooirivier Mall.
The competition is presented by Operation Compassion Potchefstroom - Project Nehemiah (OCSA Potch). The organisation works in the community and for the community, and this event looks set to add a bit of music to that mission.
