Mosaic Magic at Habitat Potch: A Workshop That Sticks - 1 November

It’s not every day you get to glue tiny bits of tile together and call it art, but that’s exactly what’s happening at Habitat Potch on 1 November 2025. The Mosaic Kit Workshop invites locals to trade their smartphones for safety gloves and rediscover the joy of making something with their hands, without having to Google “what is grout?” every five minutes.

How It Works

Booking a spot is as simple as dropping R200 to reserve your place. That’s your deposit, not the total, the final cost depends on the kit you choose in-store. Habitat has a range of curated mosaic kits, complete with a visual reference image so participants know what their masterpiece is supposed to look like (give or take a few creative liberties).

Kits can be collected before the event, and payments are handled in-store. Those who like to plan ahead can pop in, pick their favourite design, and leave it there until the big day.

On the Day

The workshop kicks off at 08:00 sharp at 10 Fleishack Street, Potchefstroom. Participants will get the chance to assemble their mosaics using the provided layout, with staff on hand for a bit of expert guidance if the tiles don’t quite behave.

Gloves and aprons will be supplied to keep everyone clean (and safe from glue-related regrets). There’s also a strong focus on safety protocols, ventilation, proper handling of adhesives, and the all-important “don’t sniff the grout” rule.
