A Run with a Twist
The Oaktober Family Fun Run takes place on Saturday 18 October 2025 from 07:30 to 09:30. The 4.8 km route starts at Cachet Park (CID), heads out to the dam, and loops back. It is less about medals and stopwatches and more about sweets, silly outfits and community spirit.
What to Expect
Participants can look forward to more than just a jog. The event rolls out with a fun walk, a dress-up parade, and, importantly, a candy hunt. The invitation is clear: whether you arrive in your best running shoes or as your favourite superhero, there’s space for everyone. Even pets are welcome to trot along.
Tickets and Access
Tickets are priced at R20 for children aged 6 to 13 and R40 for anyone over 13. Kids under 5 join in for free. A QR code makes online purchase quick, though the sugar rush is not included in the price.
Organisers and Sponsors
The initiative is part of the Red Poch se Eike Heritage Project, dedicated to saving Potchefstroom’s oak trees. The event is sponsored by The Go-To Guy and supported by Potchefstroom Central School (PCS).
