Paws Haven Plans a Festive Day for Furry Friends - 16 December

Paws Haven is gearing up to bring some much-needed Christmas cheer to its animal residents this December. Local hearts are set on making the festive season special for the animals awaiting their forever homes.

Deck the Kennels on a Public Holiday

Mark your calendars for 16 December 2025 at 10h00. Paws Haven is calling on the community to join them in a special day of decorating the kennels. The aim is to create a joyful, seasonal environment for the dogs and cats currently in their care.

If you have any spare tinsel, baubles, or Christmas lights, the Haven would appreciate donations. Volunteers are also invited to bring their own decorations and help deck the halls, or kennels, as it were.

Walkies and Feline Lovin'

Decorating is just the start of the fun. Volunteers should remember to bring their takkies and a leash for walkies with the dogs. A good walk and some fresh air will be a treat for the canine companions.

For those who prefer a more laid-back approach, grab your old jeans and settle in for some quality feline lovin'. The Haven's cats would certainly appreciate a cuddle and a bit of attention on the day. It is a perfect opportunity to get down to the animal's level and share some festive warmth.

The Paws Haven team is encouraging everyone to come and join them for a day of good deeds and cheer. It is a simple way to give back and enrich the lives of animals who deserve a little extra joy this time of year.
