Paws Haven is teeing up for its annual Golf Day, set for 28 November 2025, and the organisation is hoping the community will once again pitch in to support its work with abandoned, neglected and abused animals. The event will take place at the Potchefstroom Country Club, with a shotgun start at 11:00.
A Day on the Course for a Good Cause
The format is simple. Teams can enter a 4 ball at R2000, and anyone keen to boost the fun can sponsor a waterhole for R500. True to tradition, the day promises plenty of light-hearted competition, a few surprises and a generous price table. There is even a R2000 hole-in-one prize to tempt the brave and the overly optimistic.
Paws Haven, a registered NPC, relies on fundraising days like this to support its ongoing rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing efforts. The Golf Day has become one of its steady anchors, pulling together golfers, animal lovers and those who simply enjoy an excuse to escape the office for a while.
Venue and Logistics
The event will be hosted at the Potchegstroom Countey Club, Mooi River Avenue, Potchefstroom. Enquiries and bookings can be made by contacting Abel on 073-795-5788 or Ian on 068-679-3464.
Getting Involved
Whether entering a team, sponsoring a waterhole or donating a price, the support goes directly toward Paws Haven’s work with local animals. It’s a chance to spend a day on the fairways, have a laugh and help a small but determined organisation keep doing what it does best.
Share the event, rope in a few friends and keep the date open. It promises to be a relaxed day out, even if the scorecard says otherwise.
