Paws Pop a Balloon on Mandela Day - 18 July

They're hosting a unique “Pop a Balloon” event at their shelter in Miederpark, with adoption discounts up for grabs, if you're lucky enough to pop the right balloon.

In the spirit of Mandela Day, the global call to action encouraging everyone to spend 67 minutes making a difference, PAWS is inviting locals to lend a hand (or a leash). You’re welcome to bring a mate, or even your entire office squad, and spend some time walking dogs or chilling with the cats.

No paperwork stress here either. You can get a volunteer form ahead of time or just rock up on the day. Either way, you’ll be met with a lot of grateful eyes and wagging tails.

The Main Event: Pop to Save

Here’s where things get interesting. On 18 July, anyone looking to adopt will get to pop a balloon to reveal a mystery adoption discount. It’s like a lucky packet, but fluffier. Whether you're going home with a purring lap-warmer or a new walking buddy, you'll save a few bucks, and maybe even meet your new best friend in the process.
