Pawtch Fest returns on Saturday, 8 November 2025 at Die Stoor, 8 Ross Street, Potchindustria, Potchefstroom. The day promises competitions, entertainment and a fair bit of organised chaos, all for a good cause. Pets are welcome, in fact they’re the guests of honour, and humans are simply there to pay the entrance fee and keep the leashes untangled.
Times and Tickets
The fun begins at 08:00 and runs until 13:00. Tickets cost R20 per person and R10 per child, while pets stroll in for free. From 13:00 to 23:00, the venue switches gears for a dance session that might test the stamina of even the most committed festival-goers.
What’s On
Visitors can expect:
Pet Competitions: because who doesn’t want to see a sausage dog strut its stuff.
Doggy Races: high-speed entertainment, but best to keep your sandwich out of reach.
Exhibitors: showcasing all things pet-related and possibly more.
Charity Pool Competition: a game of eight-ball for a cause, with prizes up for grabs.
Cash Bar: self-explanatory, and probably necessary after the doggy race.
Fundraising Focus
The festival doubles as a fundraiser for PAWS, Matlosana Animal Shelter, and Fetch Bark Park. All proceeds support their work with animals in need.
Pawtch Fest is shaping up to be more than just a day out with the dogs. With pool tables, dance floors and plenty of paws on parade, it’s a reminder that community events can be both practical and entertaining, while also making a difference for local shelters.
