SAAHST College is offering a chance to up your massage game with their one-day practical workshop on hot stone massage, happening on 3 July in Potchefstroom. If you’re already familiar with the basics of massage, this short course is a solid way to add another string to your bow.
A Hands-On Approach
The workshop isn’t just about relaxing music and warm stones. It’s a practical, on-campus training session led by the college’s experienced team. You’ll get your hands on heated basalt stones and learn how to use them safely and effectively. The focus is on using these stones to target key points on the body, offering a full-body massage experience for your future clients.
The Essentials
There’s a pre-requisite for this one-day workshop: you need to have done an introduction to massage. But beyond that, it’s open to anyone keen to build on their skills. The course covers deep massage techniques using stones of various sizes, with a clear focus on ensuring safe practice and maximum relaxation for your massage clients.
When and Where
The next session kicks off on 3 July 2025 at the SAAHST College campus, located at 59 Dr James Moroka Avenue in Potchefstroom. If you’re interested, you can drop them a line at 064-624-1548 or 018-294-9000, or pop an email to shortcourses@saahst.co.za.
This short course might not be the same as a weekend music festival, but there’s definitely something rhythmic about the warm stones and smooth moves of a good hot stone massage. And while there’s no ticket site available, the college’s phone and email contacts are your best bet for more info.
So if you’re keen to learn how to make those stones work for you (and your clients), give SAAHST College a shout. It’s one day, but it could be a game-changer for your massage practice.
