A Shot at Getting Snappy
Potchefstroom Academy is bringing out the big lenses and even bigger laughs with their Photography 101 short course. Whether you're a hobbyist, content creator, or just plain tired of blurry photos of your cat, this course might just be for you.
All the Details
The course runs from 22 July to 22 August, with two 2-hour evening classes each week. It's a crash course in everything from camera settings to composition and editing. The classes will take place at SAAHST College, 59 Dr James Moroka Ave, Potchefstroom.
What You'll Learn
The course covers the basics of manual camera settings like exposure, ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. If you've been stuck in automatic mode since your camera was invented, this is your chance to finally understand those mysterious dials and buttons.
You'll also get your head around composition and creative techniques. No more awkward framing with half a head missing! The course even covers metering modes, focus, and lens choices, so you can finally tell the difference between a kit lens and a prime lens.
Editing is on the cards too, with an intro to Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, because we all know the magic doesn't end with the click.
Who Should Rock Up?
This short course is perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to move beyond the point-and-shoot mindset. So, grab your camera (yes, that's the only pre-requisite) and get ready to turn those blurry snaps into gallery-worthy shots.
