Things are about to get strange, in the best way possible, as Potchefstroom Academy & SAAHST prepares to host its Annual Hair Show on 24 October 2025. This year’s theme? The darkly imaginative world of Tim Burton. If you’ve ever wanted to see what Beetlejuice would look like with a perm, or how Edward Scissorhands might approach avant-garde upstyling, this is your moment.

A Hair-Raising Homage to Burton’s Universe

This isn’t your standard rinse-and-repeat salon affair. Expect hairstyles that could walk straight off the set of Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, or Alice in Wonderland. The students behind the scissors will be channelling their inner Mad Hatters, giving life to hairdos that challenge gravity, common sense, and probably health and safety regulations (kidding – we hope).

From neon greens to gravity-defying curls, nothing’s too weird or too wonderful. The idea? To let loose and get a little chaotic, Tim Burton style.
