In Potchefstroom, massage therapists and wellness enthusiasts alike are set to get their hands on a new skill, quite literally. The Potchefstroom Academy, known for its dedication to practical training and no-nonsense learning, is offering a short course on Rungu Massage, and it’s happening on 2 July.
A Fresh Approach to Deep Tissue Work
The Rungu Massage technique is all about harnessing the power of a solid Eucalyptus-wood baton, a handy tool that delivers deep-tissue relief without turning your thumbs into jelly. Forget your usual deep-tissue routine; this method ensures a solid workout for the muscle, not your hands.
The workshop covers the basics: you’ll get a thorough theoretical introduction before rolling up your sleeves (or not, it’s massage, after all) for some serious practical training. The course is designed to help you upskill, whether you’re looking to expand your massage menu or simply want to see what it’s all about.
Who’s It For?
A little heads up: there’s a prerequisite. You’ll need an Introduction to Massage course under your belt before tackling this one. Once that’s sorted, you’re good to go, all on-campus at SAAHST College, conveniently located at 59 James Moroka Street.
Ready to Roll?
The date to remember is 2 July, 2025. Slots are limited, so best to get cracking if you’re keen to join. The Academy hasn’t put up a fancy ticket site for this one, old-school style is in. Just give them a shout at 064-624-1548 or 018-294-9000, or drop a mail to shortcourses@saahst.co.za.
For those wanting to snoop around, check out the details on their website here, or see what’s shaking on their Facebook page.
