Golfers in the North West are dusting off their drivers and searching for their lost sleeve of balls in preparation for the upcoming Annual Golf Day. Hosted by Methodist Homes Samuel Broadbent House in partnership with ADASA North West, the event is scheduled for Friday, 12 June 2026.
The day promises a blend of competitive spirit and casual networking at the Potchefstroom Country Club, located on Mooi River Avenue.
The Game Plan
The tournament will follow an IPS (Individual Stableford) format, which is generally good news for those whose game involves more time in the rough than on the fairway. A shotgun start is set for 10:00, so participants are encouraged to arrive early enough to secure their spot and perhaps squeeze in a quick practice putt.
For those who prefer a motorised commute between holes, golf carts can be booked directly through the Pro Shop at 018-297-7875.
Participation and Sponsorship
The organisers have structured the pricing to accommodate both individual players and full teams. Entry fees are set at R500 per player or R2000 per 4-ball, with the cost including a "halfway" meal to keep energy levels up.
Businesses or individuals looking for more visibility can opt for a hole sponsorship at R2500, which also includes a complimentary 4-ball entry. Beyond the glory of a well-placed chip, there are "great prizes up for grabs" for those who manage to keep their scorecards respectable.

How to Get Involved
Whether you are a seasoned pro or someone who considers a bunker a second home, the event is designed as an opportunity to unwind and support a local cause.
