If you follow sport in Potchefstroom, you’ve probably heard of Talbert. For the sixth year in a row, he’s been selected to represent the South African Kickboxing Team, an achievement that speaks for itself.
But this year, Talbert isn’t just competing locally. From 7 to 12 October, he’ll be representing South Africa at the Kickboxing World Cup in Uzbekistan. 💪

Why This Trip Matters
Representing your country on the international stage is something few athletes ever get to do. Through hard work and determination, Talbert has earned his spot.
This tournament will give him the chance to compete against some of the toughest kickboxers in the world, and fly the flag for SA and for Potch.
But travelling to Uzbekistan comes with serious costs, travel, gear, accommodation, and more. That’s where the community can step in.

How You Can Support 🤝
A BackaBuddy campaign has been launched to help cover Talbert’s expenses and give him the support he needs to take on this incredible opportunity.

Powered by StroomCares 💛
Talbert’s journey is now also featured as part of StroomCares, a new initiative on The Go-To Guy Potchefstroom platform. It’s built to support real, local fundraising efforts and help those who are working hard to make a difference, whether in sport, school, or community projects. Let’s help Talbert get to Uzbekistan. He’s trained hard, now it’s our turn to back him.
