Pop-up markets aren’t new, but this one’s got a bit of everything: halaal Korean food, burgers, hypoallergenic bling, and even an astronaut mascot. Taking place on Saturday, 17 May 2025, from 11am to 8pm, the Potchefstroom Pop-Up is making its way to 73 Smit Street, right at the Potch Islamic Academy.
Something for Every Appetite
This market isn’t messing around when it comes to eats. Expect to chow down on everything from traditional braai and burgers to trendy Korean street food (yes, it’s all halaal). And if your sweet tooth has been nagging you, there’s no shortage of sugary satisfaction, think donuts, sweet and sour snacks, and lemonades that’ll probably make your face do that thing.
Dinky Donuts and Sweet & Sour Sensations will be dishing out the treats, while Chop Shop and other local food vendors handle the savoury side of things. Word is, Krusher Drinks will also be on hand, so expect colourful beverages in various shades of "Instagrammable".
The Vendor Line-Up
Among the confirmed vendors:
BORABOX – the subscription box with mystery appeal
Sweet & Sour Sensations – candy, snacks, and the sugar rush of your childhood
Marque Jewellery Co. – hypoallergenic, waterproof, and resistant to life's tarnishing moments
Goodie Gumdrops Toy Store – toys, gadgets, and probably a few things your kids will convince you they need
