Quiz Night 2025: Music, Mayhem and a Bit of Madness - 28 August

The Potchefstroom Chamber of Commerce is at it again. And this time, they’ve decided one night is enough to test everyone’s musical mettle. The ProPotch Quiz Night 2025 is happening on 28 August, and by the looks of things, it's less about serious trivia and more about spirited chaos in four-part harmony.

Venue, Vibes and Vinyl (Costumes Optional, But Encouraged)

The showdown will go down at The Roots, starting at 18:00 sharp, which should give everyone enough time to dig out those questionable rave outfits or double-denim 90s getups. The theme? Music Through the Ages. Think 80s Rock, Jazz, Disco, Rave, Country, whatever gets your team clapping offbeat in unison.

Teams can go full throttle with dress-up, props, and themed names. The most entertaining crew of the night doesn’t just get to feel good about themselves, they get a prize. Enthusiasm counts, apparently.

Who’s in Charge?

Louis Janse van Rensburg is taking the mic for the evening, which means the jokes will be sharp, the questions fair (hopefully), and the energy... well, that depends on how many welcome drinks people get through before Round One.

Not Just for Members

While it’s hosted by the Potch Chamber of Commerce, this isn’t a members-only affair. Anyone keen on a night of musical guesswork, mild costume regret, and competitive banter is welcome. Teams can even double (or triple) their chances by entering more than once. That’s legal. They said so.

Prizes and Bragging Rights

There are actual prizes for the top three teams, so those who take their music knowledge seriously (or just get lucky) might walk away with more than a hangover. Plus, if your group puts in the effort, there’s that special prize for best-dressed and most enthusiastic team. It's all about balance: know a bit, show a lot.
