Braai, Banter, and a Bit of Donkey Kong
Round Table Potchefstroom 47 is firing up the coals for its much-loved Chicken Braai on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at the Round Table Clubhouse, 1 Piet Bosman Street, right next to the Potch Rugby Club.
For just R100, locals can tuck into a hearty quarter chicken, bun, and salad, your choice between mixed or potato. Gates open at 11:00, and it’s set to run “till late”, which in Potch terms usually means well into the night once the last coals finally give in.
Something for Everyone
It’s not just about the food, though that’s reason enough to pull in. The day is packed with family-friendly activities and a few only-in-South-Africa twists.
Kids can bounce their hearts out on the jumping castle, while the rugby fans catch the game. The bar promises student prices, keeping everyone’s wallet, and mood, in good shape.
And if you fancy a laugh, there’s the Chicken Run (where you literally have to catch a chicken) and Donkey Kong, a cheeky guessing game involving a donkey, some business, and a prize if your prediction’s right.
Give a Bit, Get a Bit
In true Round Table spirit, there’s a charitable twist. Those who donate blood at Mooirivier Mall will be rewarded with a free double brandy and Coke at the clubhouse bar, not a bad trade-off for doing good.
It’s a relaxed, tongue-in-cheek community event that captures what Round Table is all about: having fun while giving back.
