The learner’s Birth Certificate.
The Identity Documents (IDs) of the legal parent(s).
Presence of the parent(s): At least one parent must be physically present during the application.
2. Applications for Learners with Deceased Parents
In cases where parents have passed away, the following is required:
The learner’s Birth Certificate.
The Death Certificate(s) of the parent(s).
The ID of the legal caregiver or guardian.
Presence of the caregiver/guardian: The guardian must accompany the learner.
Note: If the deceased parents' IDs are lost, an affidavit stating the IDs are lost is required.
Why This Matters
Obtaining a Smart ID card is a vital milestone for every South African citizen. It is essential for registering for matric exams, applying for tertiary education, opening bank accounts, and accessing various social services.
By bringing the "Mobile Office" to the school grounds, Mobile Office Manager Mr. K.J Letuma and his team are making it easier than ever for students to secure their future documentation.
A Note to Parents: Please ensure your child has all the necessary paperwork before Thursday morning to avoid delays or disappointment.
