As the winter chill begins to settle in, the Potchefstroom Girl Guides have launched a compassionate community initiative to ensure that those in need stay protected from the cold. Through their 2026 Blanket Drive, the group is calling on local residents to help "wrap the community in warmth and kindness" by donating blankets.

A Mission of Service and Kindness
The Girl Guides, an organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character, are putting their values into action with this winter relief project. The initiative aims to collect as many blankets as possible to distribute to vulnerable individuals and families across Potchefstroom, proving that small acts of kindness can make a massive collective impact.
How You Can Help
The organization is looking for donations of all types. Whether you are buying something new or clearing out your linen cupboard, every contribution helps:
New blankets
Gently used blankets (in good condition)
All sizes are welcome, from infant wraps to king-sized blankets.
Important Deadlines
Community members are encouraged to drop off their donations throughout the month.
Final Cut-Off Date: The end of May 2026.
Goal: To ensure no one in our community goes without warmth this winter.
Building a Better World
By supporting this drive, you are not only providing physical warmth but also supporting the mission of the Girl Guides to make the world a better place. The Potchefstroom Girl Guides would like to thank the public in advance for their generosity and for helping them keep the community safe and warm during the winter months.
