Spreading Light and Love: StroomCares’ Christmas Project 2025

Every December, Potchefstroom’s community spirit shines brighter than any festive light, and this year, StroomCares is once again proving that kindness never goes out of season. The Christmas Project 2025 invites locals to come together and share in the true meaning of giving: spreading warmth, joy, and hope to families and patients who need it most.

A Heartfelt Tradition of Giving

On 24 December 2025, the StroomCares team will visit families in Wards 4, 5, and 15, as well as the Paediatric Ward at Potchefstroom Hospital, delivering Christmas gifts filled with love. It’s a project built on compassion, reminding everyone that even the smallest act of kindness can make someone’s Christmas truly magical. Each gift, carefully wrapped and thoughtfully chosen, becomes a message of hope for those who might otherwise go without.

How You Can Help

The Christmas Project encourages every Potchefstroom resident to be part of the magic by donating either children’s gifts or adult gifts.

🎁 Children’s Gifts: Books in Afrikaans, English, or Setswana and toys that can brighten a child’s day, because every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning.

☕ Adult Gifts: Simple but heartfelt, each adult gift includes a coffee mug with Hug in a Mug, a few rusks, and a sweet treat. These small comforts bring warmth to those spending the holidays in difficult circumstances.

Important Dates and Drop-Off Points

The donation deadline is mid-November 2025, allowing volunteers enough time to sort, pack, and deliver every contribution before Christmas Eve. Donations can be dropped off at any of the following local points during office hours or by appointment:
