If you’re the type who enjoys getting crafty or just wants to keep your hands busy (and warm) this winter, then the My Creative Fix “Embroidery Basics Workshop” might be just the thing for you. Led by the ever-smiling Katelyn, this beginner-friendly event promises to teach the essential stitches while making something practical (and cute!), hand warmers shaped like stars and hearts.
Date, Time and Place
Set your reminders for Saturday, 7 June 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00. The workshop will be held at 9 Reitz Street, Bult, Potchefstroom. The perfect spot for a creative Saturday afternoon, and if you’re a local, no excuses, it’s right there!
The Lowdown on the Workshop
Katelyn will walk participants through the blanket stitch, daisy stitch, back stitch, and the legendary French knot, ideal for giving your hand warmers some personal flair. And yes, even if your last experience with a needle and thread was darning your socks in a hurry, you’re more than welcome. This isn’t a sewing bee, it’s a chill, hands-on class that’ll leave you with a pair of microwaveable hand warmers. Hot hands in winter? Yes please!
The Cost and What’s Included
The workshop costs R200 per person. Good news for those who aren’t keen on lugging their entire craft stash along: all materials are provided. Just bring yourself (and maybe a friend for moral support and giggles).
How to Book
To book your spot (because you definitely don’t want to miss out), visit the website at www.mycreativefix.co.za or send a friendly WhatsApp to 064-681-3914. If you prefer Facebook updates, check them out at My Creative Fix on Facebook.
Why Join?
Let’s face it, winter is no joke. These hand warmers are not just cute, they’re also practical. Pop them in the microwave and slip them in your pockets. No fancy footwork needed, just a bit of thread and a warm drink (BYO tea!). Besides, there’s something very satisfying about making something with your own hands, especially when it’s going to keep those hands warm for the rest of winter.
So, if you’re up for some laughs, a bit of sewing, and a guaranteed way to avoid icy fingers, book your spot and come stitch & warm with Katelyn at My Creative Fix!
