The Flowery Present A Dahlia Workshop - 4 October

Gardeners, flower enthusiasts and the curious will have a chance to get their hands dirty at the upcoming Dahlia Workshop. The session takes place on 4 October 2025 from 10:00 to 12:30 at The Roots Venue, 954 M C Roode Street, Potchefstroom.

The workshop is limited to 12 participants, so it is very much a first-come-first-served affair. Tickets are priced at R750 per person.

What Participants Will Learn

The morning session is designed to cover the life of a dahlia from tuber to final bloom. Topics include:

• An introduction to dahlias

• Planting techniques

• Care and maintenance

• Harvesting

• End of season care

Each attendee will receive a bundle of class materials:

• A dahlia tuber

• Pot and soil

• Gloves and plant tags

• A guide and feeding schedule

• Nutrients

To make sure no one faints from too much enthusiasm, a quiche and drink are also part of the package.

The organisers have simply said: “Come join us.” A straightforward invitation, leaving it up to those interested to bring the enthusiasm, while they provide the tubers, soil and snacks.
