SkoolKompas: Education with a Higher Calling

Our studio sessions this week took a deep dive into the future of our youth and the values that shape them.

8 December: SkoolKompas with Martin from StudyXpress

We sat down with Martin from StudyXpress Potchefstroom for an enlightening segment of SkoolKompas. Martin shared the heart and soul behind StudyXpress,a unique Christian education platform built on solid Biblical values.

10 December: ABC Motsepe League Drama

The local sporting scene was electric as the ABC Motsepe League Stream A took to the field. These games are the lifeblood of local football, showcasing incredible talent and raw passion. The atmosphere in Ikageng reminded us once again why sport is such a powerful tool for community building.

Our field team has been crisscrossing the city to find the spots you absolutely must visit before the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve.

9 December: The Ultimate December Bucket List Stop

If you have a sweet tooth, consider this a warning: Sweets 2 You Factory Shop is a dangerous place for your diet but a paradise for your holiday cravings! From ice cream sticks and bulk boxes to milkshake syrups, chips, and every candy imaginable, it’s the ultimate summer treat destination. Our advice? Go with a list, or you’ll end up with a trolley full of things you didn't know you needed (but definitely want).

10 December: Last Chance Trolley Dash!

The tension was high at Pick n Pay Canal Crossing as they prepared for the final Trolley Dash of the season. To enter, shoppers simply had to spend R250, write their details on the back of their slip, and pray to the retail gods. The live draw happened on Friday the 12th, closing out a month of high-speed excitement. Congratulations to all our local winners who managed to grab their holiday groceries in record time!

10 December: Beat the Back-to-School Rush

It might feel like the holidays just started, but the new school year is lurking just around the corner. School Supplies Potchefstroom (located at 44 Buskus Street) is making life easy for the "Gimmies" community. They offer a one-stop-shop for Hoërskool Gimnasium’s school and sports wear.

Pro-tip: Don't wait until January 14th! Head over during their weekday hours (08:15 – 17:00) or Saturday mornings to get fitted before the rush.

11 December: Build It – Your DIY Headquarters

Whether it’s a quick lick of paint or a full garden overhaul, Build It remains the first stop for the Potch DIY community. We popped in to see their latest tool and gardening stock,everything you need to keep your home looking sharp while you have the time off.

11 December: A Fresh Look for Pick n Pay Matlosana Mall

Big news for shoppers in the Matlosana area! Pick n Pay Matlosana Mall has officially unveiled its refreshed, modern look. The upgrades are stunning, making the shopping experience smoother and more stylish. They celebrated with a massive promotion from 11–14 December, including their own Trolley Dash competition. Three lucky winners got the chance to fill their carts for free during the live draw on Tuesday, 16 December.

Paws Haven: Finding Forever Homes

On 12 December, we spent some time with the beautiful residents of Paws Haven. These two ladies are looking for a place to call home this Christmas:

The Collie x German Shepherd: A 3-year-old female who is as smart as she is gentle. She is the perfect companion for a family looking for a loyal, loving protector.

The Collie x Labrador: A friendly, energetic 3-year-old male. He’s already neutered and ready to run, play, and join you on your morning walks.

🪙 17 December: Cash for the Holidays

NextExchange set up shop at The Willows Garden Hotel this Wednesday. It was a golden opportunity (literally!) for residents to bring in silver, Krugerrands, and collectibles to trade for easy cash—perfect for those last-minute Christmas gift runs.
