From rugby glory and school fun to creative showcases, braai bargains, and biltong bliss, Week 40 was one to remember. Potch and Klerksdorp were buzzing with events, energy, and community spirit, and as always, The Go-To Guy was right there to capture it all.

SportStroom 1 October – Volkies Rugby
We had a powerhouse lineup on SportStroom, with Michael de Beer, Gerald Sutton, and Johan Herbst joining Drikus Viljoen to talk about Volkies’ phenomenal rugby season. From game-day highlights to their Visekerbeker victory, it was all about teamwork, pride, and passion. These coaches have built more than a team - they’ve built a brotherhood. We kicked off the week with smiles and story time on SkoolKompas, as Drikus Viljoen chatted to Juffrou Marie and Juf Alana from Kekkel en Kraai Kleuterskool.
With their upcoming Open Day around the corner, they shared what parents can expect: fun learning, laughter, and the perfect start to any child’s educational journey.
Their passion for early childhood development is contagious! These ladies prove that school readiness doesn’t have to be stressful when learning feels like play.

Ikageng 3 October – Ikageng Basketball x Vaal Dance Battles
We hit the Ikageng Basketball Courts where local players met Vaal’s best dancers in a mashup of sport and street culture. From crossovers to dance-offs, it was all about rhythm, rivalry, and raw talent. The atmosphere was electric, and we can’t wait to share the video highlights. Later that day, we were swept away by the incredible creativity on display at Potch Academy’s “We Are The World” Body Painting Show. It was a breathtaking explosion of colour, talent, and imagination , proof that art in Potchefstroom is alive and thriving. From bold strokes to intricate detail, every design told a story, and we caught it all on camera. Don’t miss the highlight reel on our socials! 29 September – Oupa’s Biltong Delivers the Flavour
At Oupa’s Biltong in Vyfhoek Shopping Centre, the aroma of freshly cut biltong filled the air. Their 5kg meat pack for just R530 had locals queuing, ready for the weekend braai. From yellow-fat biltong to droëwors and a variety of meat combos, Oupa’s remains the go-to for quality and taste.

Our friends at Flo-Tek North West kept the excitement rolling with a CAT 1200W Angle Grinder giveaway! All you had to do was spend R400 or more and drop your slip in the box. Looking Back at Week 40
From body paint brilliance to rugby pride, from meat specials to doggy competitions, this week had it all : colour, community, and plenty of character.
