We wrapped up the week with the grand opening of Duco’s Eatery at Palm Square. Locals lined up early for opening-day specials, fresh bakes and that now-famous quote from the first customer: “Dis nou flippen lekker koffie!”

With its vibrant décor, friendly service and irresistible menu, Duco’s has quickly become Potch’s newest must-visit spot.

29 October - Rising Star on the Cricket Pitch

This week’s SportStroom celebrated one of Potchefstroom’s most promising young cricketers - a name already turning heads since 2022.

With a blazing 100 runs off 46 balls and an astonishing 6 wickets for just 2 runs, this youngster has dominated at both district and SAINTS 1st team level. His determination and discipline have made him a cornerstone of every side he represents.

In conversation with Drikus Viljoen, he shared his highlights, his daily grind, and how teamwork keeps his passion alive. It’s inspiring to see such drive from someone still carving out their path , proof that Potch cricket has a bright future ahead.

From riverside retreats and roaring fires to sport, schools and new business energy, Week 44 reminded us once again that Potchefstroom’s heartbeat lies in its people - creative, hardworking and full of spirit.
