Week 29 was all about local pride, action-packed tournaments, community heroes, and a whole lot of wagging tails. While StroomStories and Spiritual Talk took a short breather, our field team and the Ikageng crew were on fire, bringing you the energy, excitement, and everything in between. Here’s a look back at an unforgettable week!

Ikageng 14 July – Winter War Tournament – Prince Finals!
In Ikageng, the Winter War Tournament roared to life with the Joker vs Deep Killer final. The battle was intense, but Deep Killer walked away with the crown. One for the books! 18 July – Lastro Da Dancer: Building a Movement
We went behind the scenes with Lastro Da Dancer, the soul of Potch Dance Battles. From street corners to center stage, his story is pure passion and purpose.
19 July – Ikageng: Ekasi Winter Tournament – Day 1
Kamogelo “Mazimba” Pilane shared his incredible soccer journey of perseverance and pride.
And then it was game time! Day 01 of the Ekasi Winter Tournament kicked off with energy and kasi spirit. From local talent to live-action at Ikageng Stadium, we were right at the heart of the event with La Fabrica Management.
20 July – Ekasi Winter Tournament: Semis & Finals
The stakes rose on Saturday with semi-final action, leading to a dramatic final showdown where Continental FC clinched the title against Tiki Taka Sports Academy in a nail-biting penalty shootout. What. A. Finish!

Our Eyes in The Field 14 July – Landbou Gholfklub: More Than Just Golf!
We swung by Landbou Gholfklub and discovered a whole vibe - think braais on the deck, darts showdowns, and good times with great people. Whether you’re there for the greens, the grill, or the games, this is Potch's ultimate spot to unwind.
14 July – Filling Potholes, Filling Hearts
Thanks to Fuller Civils, the potholes in Wynne Street, Baillie Park are no more! A real feel-good moment showing how local action can lead to safer, happier streets for everyone.
15 July – Hot Deals at Daly Ford
We rolled through Daly Ford to check out the latest winter specials and trust us, these deals are just as hot as their heaters! Keep an eye out for our video walkthrough.
17 July – Spotlight on Action Sports SA
We caught up with JD Joubert at Action Sports SA Potchefstroom , the place to be for action cricket, netball, soccer and dodgeball. It’s all about adrenaline, team spirit, and full-throttle fun.
18 July – Mandela Day with PAWS Potchefstroom
There was fluff, fun, and pawesome pancakes this Mandela Day at PAWS! From dog walks to popping balloons for adoption discounts, the spirit of giving and tail-wagging joy was everywhere. 18 July – Restoring Spaces, Creating Joy
We discovered something special: a local resident is bringing Potch’s old jukskei lanes back to life with a twist! The area is being transformed into a dog-friendly off-leash zone, because our furry friends deserve fun too!
