A Practical Day for Nannies and Au Pairs
On 17 September 2025, Potchefstroom will host part two of The Nanny Movement’s Comprehensive Nanny Training. The workshop runs from 09:00 to 15:00 and is designed to give nannies and au pairs practical tools for everyday childcare. Tickets are priced at R1 410 per person, with an option that includes CPR, choking and First Aid at R1 710.
The training takes place at M.C. Roode Drive, Potchefstroom, and participants can expect hands-on sessions that tackle the realities of working with young children.
Topics on the Table
The workshop isn’t about theory for theory’s sake. Instead, it covers the nuts and bolts of daily childcare, such as:
Introducing solids without a full-scale food fight
Toilet training and how to survive the process
Time management skills that actually help in a busy home
Understanding different areas of child development
Self-regulation and helping children handle emotions
Planning a day that balances structured and unstructured play
Activities to stimulate learning and curiosity
Organising the playroom so it doesn’t look like a toy shop exploded
Creative use of household items as toys
Guiding children through routines while keeping calm
The Aim
The Nanny Movement, led by Chirisma, focuses on helping caregivers gain confidence, learn new skills, and improve the quality of care they provide. It’s about building stronger routines and supporting children as they grow, while giving nannies practical strategies they can take straight back to their workplaces.
